Work From Home Tips And Tricks

Updated: Nov 22

1. Take breaks

Try this by setting an alarm to get up and stretch every hour or so. Another great way to boost your overall health and productivity levels is by using a standing desk. Walk around your home while chatting on the phone with a friend or family member. Move to a new area to eat lunch for 20 to 30 minutes or take a walk around the block.

2. Get dressed

Sometimes working from home means staying in your PJS all day, which is totally great, but sometimes it's nice to change things up. You never know, throwing on a cute outfit and shoes might just make you feel more put together and motivated.

3. Eat breakfast

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and we totally agree. Cook yourself a healthy, hearty breakfast as often as you can instead of waiting for mid-day hunger to strike. Don't forget to stay hydrated.

4. Make lists

Stay organized with to-do lists and notes to remind yourself what needs to get done for the day or week. Remember that people tend to be less patient when working from home. Be sure to alway have a direct conversation about expectations and timelines.

5. Designate a workspace

Just because you're not working in the office doesn't mean you can't create a home office. Make sure you have a comfortable chair and window nearby to allow natural lighting and air in. If you're someone that likes to work from the comfort of your bed, switch things up a bit and dedicate a table or desk to sit at for at least half of your work day.

6. Establish a routine

Creating a routine is a powerful tactic for being successful while working from home. It brings a sense of normality in your everyday life and provides structure to the work day. Do your best to wake up around the same time everyday so you are able to get all your work done each day without having to makeup for the hours lost by working late hours of the night.
