How To Vote Safely During A Pandemic

Updated: Nov 7

Vote by mail

One easy way to ensure that you’re not going to get sick is voting by mail. Some states are conducting their elections this year entirely by mail, including the state of Washington. It's a good option for those in areas where cases have spiked or those who are in the higher risk category for catching the virus.

If you're worried of mailing in your ballot, you can also drop it off in person. This way, you will only have to interact a very few amount of people than you would if you were going to your local polling place. Be sure to wear a face covering, stay six feet apart from others, and wash your hands upon leaving.

Vote in-person

Voting in person may seem a bit daunting to some people, but it's not much more risky than going to the grocery store, as long as you’re following the CDC's prevention guidelines by wearing a face mask, keeping your distance from others, and avoiding touching your face.
